I never use a gradient overlay without a pattern overlay. So this tutorial is not going
to be that simple that I only
teach you how to make a gradient overlay. I'm going to teach you how to combine those two together.
Here's our example.
Step 1 --> Copy the text and paste it on the scan.
Step 2 --> Go to Layer --> Layer Style --> Stroke.
Step 3 --> Change over to the standard settings of the given example
below. Once you're done, click on 'Pattern Overlay.'
Step 4 --> Choose a screentone that you have defined in your list and that looks close enough to the original.
Step 5 --> When you're done click on 'Gradient Overlay.' Step 6 --> Set the 'Blending Mode' to 'Overlay.'
Step 7 --> Play a little with the degrees of the 'Angle.' When you're
done click on 'OK.'
I used -25 degrees.
This is how it looks like for me.
Give your SFX some final touches by rotating the text and use a warp style. This is my end result.
It's not exactly the same, but it's close to it and that's what matters for now.
