If you notice any spelling, grammar, or punctuation errors, please report them here.

This project contains quite a bit of text, and despite our best efforts, we're sure many errors have slipped through our eyes, so please help us out and let us know!

To make our jobs easier, when filing a report, please state where and what the mistake is, and what should the corrected version be.

Okay, so for some reason the Akismet plugin was randomly marking legitimate posts as spam @_@

Disabled the plugin, hopefully it didn't delete too many useful posts ^_^;;;

Secondly, there as been tons of spam accounts, so I did a major clean up of user accounts... I think I accidentally deleted a few legitimate accounts, so if you are registered here, but for some reason your account was deleted, sorry!!! >.<;;;

Hello,
I'm a current staffer of Animewaves and I believe that your interviews are lacking with 3 core members who could flesh out all sorts of drama and stories: For the party interested, please send me a private message so that I may get those members in touch with you. Thank you.

Hanamichi from Ignition One, here. I stumbled across this today in a way I don't exactly recall, but I've got to hand it to you, what an incredible piece of work.

It's great to read about the history of the scene, especially having been a part of it. I was also nearly brought to tears having taken a look at the Altogether link -- I can't believe you have those old exchange banners!

Again -- beautiful work here, it's great to see this all documented.

While we try to be comprehensive, we're not omnipotent, so there may very well be many terminologies, softwares, or guides that we missed. If you'd like to contribute to those section, just post in this thread following the guidlines below:

Terminology:
- List the term, and give a description of it (preferably as if you're writing the description for a dictionary)
- Don't forget to list things like alt. spellings or acronyms.

Software:
- Give the name, a description, as well as a link to the software (preferably with a downloadable (and working) copy of the software.

Guides:
- A link to the guide and the type of the guide

C&D Letters:
- We're also collecting C&D letters, so if you have any, or know about any, post them here~
- We're only looking for actual text of the letter, meaning a description of the letter will not make it in to the C&D section

-I am so happy someone finally decided to do this. It brings so many memories, I can't believe I recognize all the groups. I have a few suggestions and cool requests.

Ijust noticed it you only put info on studio robb only in history... so I thought it was forgotten... I was wondering if you could put it also into the focus or get an interview with him. Just a wish. I manage to find his one only manga link to work.. http://www.studiorobb.com/manga/sirius/sirius_manga.html

Also suggestions:
I was wondering if you could make a list of all the works that they did. Like for instance Adachi Universe and Omanga, I really loved their work, however now that I can't access their sites or their gone I don't remember the names of the works that they did. It will be a cool suggestion.

The second suggestion, I found it really cool how you got to interview all the heads of the group. I used to part of a scanlating group myself long time ago, but I have no clue how to come in contact with the head anymore since they disbanded. So it will be cool if it was fine with all heads, if they listed a way one can come in contact with them. I mean as an option?... Cause I totally wanna email Luchs from Mangasync or leave a message for her. I wonder if it will be possible. Hope it is not too rude?

hey guys.

as the owner of the WFP, I got an interview that was submitted on mangahelpers and blatantly removed and banned for the controversial content.
I was wondering if you guys would be interested in posting our interview in the site (updated obviously) and more on our history, thanks :)

So you may have noticed the Altogether collage of group banners. If you were wondering how the banners were selected... well, what's there were all the banners we were able to find by ourselves.

So, if you know any group banner that isn't there, please do let us know, so we can add them to the collage.

Keep in mind the banner needs to be 88x31, and should be an U.S.-based group (the reason for this is that if we included banners of groups of every nationality, the editor would surely develop carpal tunnel, but if anyone is interested in collecting international banners, we'll by all means support him or her).

-) It'd be nice if articles about scanlation groups had links to the corresponding interviews (if they exist).

-) Scan's'lation vs. scanlation: both words are in use, though scanlation is the popular choice. I don't know if there's a history to that, but it always seemed to me that oldtimers are more likely to use scanslation.

-) QC - quality check, as a noun and verb, should be part of the terminology

-) trans - short for translation

You know, for calling it "Inside Scanlation", you sure present an outside view of it.

I could give you countless examples, but suffice it to say that you present far far too much of what most of us oldtimers would call a "leecher" view. Which is fine in its way, if what you're trying to present is scanlation from a reader's point of view. But inside, it sure isn't.

Hey hey! Brilliant work and congratulations for finally getting this site up.

Was really surprised when I saw the site as it reminded me of an article I wrote about 2 years back for a University Journalism assignment about scanlations/subbing.

I was wondering whether you would ever cover on copyrighted scans being scanlated in by fans? Mangaupdates seems to have a listing of groups that scans in copyright materials such as from Tokyopop or DMP and publishes them online. It was the topic that I chose to write on and I compared how it would work with scanlation groups.

Thankies

Some basic forum etiquette and policies:

1. Use common sense and respect others' opinions. Do not troll, or post topics just to cause fights.

2. Keep the conversation (and usernames) clean, please avoid excessive vulgarities and obscenities.

3. Do not ask where to download manga, or offer manga download links, there are other places for those, this is a feedback/discussion forum.

4. Avatar is not enabled, however, the forum does support Gravatar.

5. When pointing out mistakes in the articles, please be specific, "blah blah sucks because it is full of grammar errors" is neither polite nor helpful.

6. If you have ideas for new articles or content, or would like to add to existing articles, please post them in the "Feedback and Discussion" section, when they're approved, they will be moved to the "Update and Work in Progress" section.

7. All reports on mistakes and errors will be looked over, it may take some time for them to be implemented though, so please be patient.
