It's almost a year since the launch of Inside Scanlation, and what a year it's been!

The project has been extremely successful, and as far as I can tell, quite a few people enjoyed reading about the history of scanlation (yay team!). The original goal of this project has already been achieved, namely, to bring a smile and some nostalgia to old timers, and to show the newcomers, along with those not familiar with scanlation, of the history and backgrounds of scanlation.

However, all plans change when put in action. The original plan was to just leave the site as is after launch, yet, so many interesting things happened in the world of scanlation in the year since the site's launch. It would be a shame to not record those events somehow.

So the solution seemed simple enough, simply write another chapter and add it to the site... but see, there will always be new history to record, so what should happen to Inside Scanlation in the future?

1. Leave it as is, hope some time in the future someone else picks up the mantle.
2. Update the site as new history is made.

So obviously option 2 would be good for the site itself (and visitors who want to read more), but constantly updating the site would turn it into a news-like site, which really isn't something I intended it to be (mainly not enough time).

So I've been thinking, how about:

Keep the site as it, a static, encyclopedia-like resource site, but create a separate, smaller section, where people can write small blurbs (maybe news-like, or well-constructed rants, or something similar), and at the end of every year, we take those writings and compile/combine/edit them into a new chapter to be added to the History section.

This is just an idea, for it to work, of course, will mean people are actually willing to participate.

Feel free to give your thought and ideas on this!

If you notice any spelling, grammar, or punctuation errors, please report them here.

This project contains quite a bit of text, and despite our best efforts, we're sure many errors have slipped through our eyes, so please help us out and let us know!

To make our jobs easier, when filing a report, please state where and what the mistake is, and what should the corrected version be.

Thank you!

Okay, so for some reason the Akismet plugin was randomly marking legitimate posts as spam @_@

Disabled the plugin, hopefully it didn't delete too many useful posts ^_^;;;

Secondly, there as been tons of spam accounts, so I did a major clean up of user accounts... I think I accidentally deleted a few legitimate accounts, so if you are registered here, but for some reason your account was deleted, sorry!!! >.<;;;

While we try to be comprehensive, we're not omnipotent, so there may very well be many terminologies, softwares, or guides that we missed. If you'd like to contribute to those section, just post in this thread following the guidlines below:

Terminology:
- List the term, and give a description of it (preferably as if you're writing the description for a dictionary)
- Don't forget to list things like alt. spellings or acronyms.

Software:
- Give the name, a description, as well as a link to the software (preferably with a downloadable (and working) copy of the software.

Guides:
- A link to the guide and the type of the guide

C&D Letters:
- We're also collecting C&D letters, so if you have any, or know about any, post them here~
- We're only looking for actual text of the letter, meaning a description of the letter will not make it in to the C&D section

hey guys.

as the owner of the WFP, I got an interview that was submitted on mangahelpers and blatantly removed and banned for the controversial content.
I was wondering if you guys would be interested in posting our interview in the site (updated obviously) and more on our history, thanks :)

So you may have noticed the Altogether collage of group banners. If you were wondering how the banners were selected... well, what's there were all the banners we were able to find by ourselves.

So, if you know any group banner that isn't there, please do let us know, so we can add them to the collage.

Keep in mind the banner needs to be 88x31, and should be an U.S.-based group (the reason for this is that if we included banners of groups of every nationality, the editor would surely develop carpal tunnel, but if anyone is interested in collecting international banners, we'll by all means support him or her).
